Entering our first ever global spirits competition, we wanted to see how the taste of Tom Savano stacked up against the rest of the industry. With four entries in the speciality spirits category, we went up against some tough competition, coming away with three gold medals and one silver.
Earning a special mention was our Single Estate Reposado Margarita, made from one of the only tequilas from Jalisco still made the old fashioned way, blended with dual notes of citrus, fresh agave and herbal bitters. With a twist on Tommy’s style, the judges deemed it to be “extremely well made” with notes of “fresh agave” on the nose, along with “pepperiness and a touch of smokiness” on the palate.
Also in receipt of gold medals were the English garden Lychee martini, made with premium British organic elderflower vodka, and the Kentucky winter Old Fashioned, a careful balance of traditional Midwest bourbon and rye to complement dark sugar and a signature bitters blend.
Last in our awards was a silver medal for the Devon coastal Negroni; a smooth and rich cocktail made from a boutique award-winning gin from Devon inspired from bygone seafaring voyages. With vintage Italian vermouth, garden amaro and hints of sweet orange, this completes our launch range on a perfect note.
